Tarivex user guide

Everything you need to install Tarivex, connect your own AI keys, and get the most out of meetings, clipboard sync, and LAN screen share — all running locally on your machine.

Getting Started

Download & install

  1. Download Tarivex for your platform from the download section: the macOS .dmg or the Windows .exe installer.
  2. On macOS, open the .dmg and drag Tarivex to your Applications folder. On Windows, run the installer and follow the prompts.
  3. Launch Tarivex.

Create your account & unlock

  1. Create an account or sign in. Your account is used for licensing and to manage your registered devices.
  2. Complete the one-time purchase to unlock all features. Tarivex is a single one-time purchase — no subscription, no per-seat fees, lifetime updates included.
  3. Once unlocked, you can sign in on up to five of your devices with the same account.

AI Settings (Bring Your Own Key)

Tarivex uses a bring-your-own-key (BYOK) model. You add your own API keys, and Tarivex calls your chosen AI provider directly from your device. Your keys are stored locally in your operating system's secure storage and are never sent to Tarivex servers.

Adding a provider key

  1. Open Settings → AI.
  2. Paste your API key for one or more providers: OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), or Google Gemini.
  3. Select a default model for summaries and the live AI assistant.

Meetings & Transcription

Starting a meeting

Tarivex captures system audio and your microphone, so it works with any meeting platform — Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Slack Huddles, or in-person conversations. Start a local meeting from the Meetings view to begin recording and transcribing on your device.

Choosing a transcription engine

Live AI assistant & history

During a meeting you can ask the live AI assistant questions, generate summaries, and extract action items using your chosen AI provider. You can save reusable per-meeting prompts (for interviews, sales calls, standups, and more). All meetings are kept in your local meeting history so you can revisit transcripts and re-run summaries later.

Clipboard Sync over Wi-Fi

Clipboard Sync lets you share clipboard text and images between your Mac and Windows computers on the same Wi-Fi network. There is no cloud and no account hand-off — sync is encrypted and peer-to-peer.

  1. Sign in to Tarivex on each device with the same account.
  2. Make sure the devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Tarivex auto-discovers your devices over the LAN.
  3. Copy on one device and paste on another. History is searchable per device, and you can auto-filter sensitive data.

LAN Screen Share / Screenshot Beaming

LAN Screen Share sends screen captures from one computer to another on the same Wi-Fi network — instantly, encrypted, and with no cloud upload.

  1. Sign in on both devices; make sure they are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Capture a screenshot and beam it directly to a discovered device, peer-to-peer.
  3. The capture travels only across your local network and is never stored on Tarivex servers.

Devices & License

Your one-time purchase lets you use Tarivex on up to five (5) of your devices. Each device you sign in on is registered to your account.

Privacy

Tarivex is local-first: meeting audio, transcripts, screenshots, OCR text, and clipboard data stay on your device, and your AI keys never leave it. When you use a cloud AI provider, content goes directly to that provider under their privacy policy — not to Tarivex. For full details, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
