Privacy Policy

Tarivex is built local-first. This Privacy Policy explains what data stays on your device, the limited information we collect to operate licensing and improve the app, and your rights. By using Tarivex, you agree to this policy.
1. Local-First Design
Your content stays on your machine. Meeting recordings, transcripts, screenshots, OCR text, and clipboard contents are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to, processed by, or retained on Tarivex servers. Local Whisper transcription runs fully offline on your own hardware.
2. Bring Your Own AI Keys
Your AI provider API keys are stored locally on your device using your operating system's secure storage. They are used only to call the AI provider you choose, directly from your device. When you use cloud transcription or analysis, the relevant content is sent only to your own AI provider (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini), under that provider's privacy policy — not to Tarivex. We never receive your keys or the content you send to your provider.
3. Information We Collect
To operate licensing and improve the product, we collect a limited set of information:
- Account information for licensing — such as your email and name — handled via Firebase Authentication.
- License and payment status and registered device identifiers (used to enforce the 5-device limit), stored via Firebase / Firestore.
- Payment processing via Stripe. Stripe handles your payment; we do not store your card details.
- Anonymous product analytics (PostHog) and crash / error reports (Sentry), used to understand usage and fix problems.
4. Data on Your Local Network
Peer-to-peer features such as clipboard sync and LAN screen share operate directly between your devices over your Wi-Fi network. This traffic is encrypted and stays on your local network. It does not pass through Tarivex servers or the cloud.
5. No Selling of Data
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
6. Data Retention and Your Rights
We retain account and licensing information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by contacting us at support@tarivex.com. Content stored locally on your device is under your control and can be deleted by you at any time.
7. Children's Privacy
Tarivex is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of Tarivex after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
